As the second wave of storms and snow passes over the northeastern United States, it has become even more apparent that the recovery effort will be much longer than previously anticipated. While some families have just seen power returned to their homes, many have agan lost power due to the powerful snowstorm that is currently passing over New Jersey and New York.
Lambda Family Relief for Hurricane Sandy
As the first and largest Latino Fraternity and Sorority, Lambda Theta Phi and Lambda Theta Alpha have extensive national national networks of brothers and sisters dedicated to service and uplifting the Latino community. Although many of our members are not in the New Jersey / New York / Connecticut area, both organizations were founded in New Jersey and have strong ties to the area. We have therefore set up an opportunity for Lambda Men and Lambda Ladies to donate to the American Red Cross through a dedicated fundraising site. NALFO Day of Service Mobilizes to Help with Sandy Relief
These areas need our help, and one way brothers can assist those in need is by participating in the NALFO Day of Service this Saturday. There are events lined up in Jersey City, NJ;New York City, NY (4 locations) that have been changed to help residents recover from Hurricane Sandy. If you are not in the Jersey City/New York City area, there are plenty of other NALFO events around the country on Friday and Saturday in which you can participate.
