On September 14th in Daytona, FL the Florida Sector 1 board hosted their 1st Lambda Leadership Series (LLS), as well as their Fall 2012 Future Leaders Retreat. The Lambda Leadership Series is a four-part “Neophyte to Prophyte” series, that will span from September 2012 to April 2013, and will conclude at the 2012 National Conference in New Orleans, LA.
“There has never been a proper “neophyte to prophyte” development program. In the past, after you completed one year as an active brother, and met all sector and chapter related programs, you would become a prophyte. LLS will provide our new members the proper training needed to become leaders and EARN their prophyte status,” explained Henry Silva, Florida Sector 1 Vice President
Along with workshops on Fraternity traditions, induction training, and proper chapter management, Florida Sector 1 has partnered with companies like INROADS, National Society of Hispanic MBAs (NSHMBA), and Kaplan, to provide their new members the professional leadership training they deserve.
The mission of INROADS is to develop and place talented underserved youth in business and industry, and prepare them for corporate and community leadership. This initiative, lead by Brother Eli Rodriguez, has helped many of the brothers in our sector land internships and/or full time employment at Fortune 500 companies such as: PepsiCo., MetLife Insurance, T. Rowe Price, and Raymond James Financial. +
