Lambda Partners with Lambda Theta Alpha for Sexual Assault Awareness Month

We Embrace Our Voice

Lambda Theta Phi Latin Fraternity, Inc. will once again partner with Lambda Theta Alpha Latin Sorority, Inc. to launch a national campaign for Sexual Assault Awareness during the month of April. Sexual Assault Awareness Month, calls attention to the widespread impact sexual assault has to every person in our community. The theme of this year’s Sexual Assault Awareness Month campaign is, “Embrace Your Voice”. The campaign calls on new partners and community members to help expand sexual assault prevention efforts and ensure the next generation fosters attitudes that promote healthy relationships, equality and respect. This month we will explore how we as individuals and community can use our voices to make a true impact and become an agent for change.

Our organizations are aligned on our efforts towards this mission:

1. Engage – our membership with Sexual Assault Awareness Month through various means of involvement and education.
2. Educate – our membership by providing resources that they can utilize. Additionally, encourage our membership to educate their peers on their respective college campus communities. 
3. Empower – our membership to embrace their voice and the influence our platform as fraternal organizations has when speaking and developing action-oriented approaches to Sexual Assault Awareness. 

The National Sexual Violence Resource Center is a great place to find resources to help your chapter begin event planning, media campaigns, and other forms of educational platforms to engage members of your campuses/communities in the conversation around how to prevent sexual assault. Additionally, we are asking that if your Chapter/Colony is planning or participating in an event related to Sexual Assault Awareness Month, that you include the hashtags, #LambdasUnited #Lambdas, so we can see the great work you are doing locally to raise awareness!

The month will include educational resources on the topic of Sexual Assault on how to engage in prevention, and what to do should someone you know has been impacted. We are excited about this partnership and hope that you will join us in uniting against sexual assault by “Embracing Your Voice” on this important topic!
