LAMBDA THETA PHI ANNOUNCES RECORD NICKEL DRIVE FUNDRAISING OF $13,732

PARSIPPANY, NEW JERSEY – Lambda Theta Phi Latin Fraternity, Inc. is pleased to announce that the Fraternity has completed a very successful philanthropic drive to benefit our national philanthropy, the American Heart Association. Throughout the month of November, brothers were challenged to raise $3,800 collectively in honor of our 38th anniversary. The successful completion of the 2013 Nickel Drive will go to benefit the American Heart Association in research of heart disease, stroke and other related health concerns, especially within the Latino community. According to recent studies published by the American Heart Association, 1 in 5 Latinos will die of heart disease. High blood pressure, diabetes, obesity, high cholesterol and physical inactivity all play a role in the increasing number of Latinos with heart disease.

We are pleased to announce that Lambda Theta Phi Latin Fraternity, Inc. will contribute $13,732 to the American Heart Association, which is 361% of our original goal of $3,800.
We want to thank all the brothers across the nation who participated in this annual event. Special thanks to Virginia Sector 1 and New Jersey Sector 1 for pushing the brotherhood towards excellence and continuing to raise the bar for Lambda Theta Phi.
UPDATE: As of August 1, 2014, $14,332 have been raised for the American Heart Association.
