PARSIPPANY, NJ — In support of the Latin@ Leaders Campaign, an initiative to raise funds for the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute’s (CHCI) R2L NextGen leadership program, Lambda Theta Phi has launched the annual Quarter for the Quarter Drive at campuses nationwide. The drive is so named to call attention to CHCI’s focus on developing Latin@ students for future leadership. One out of every four children in the U.S. is Latin@, yet Latin@s still lag behind many other groups when it comes to measures of education, income and leadership in government and business. R2L NextGen is a program that seeks to develop future Latin@ leaders through an immersive one-week experience in Washington, D.C. in which students engage with lawmakers, learn leadership skills and enhance their understanding of the U.S. government.
This campaign will run for a full month and it will end on Tuesday, December 1st, Giving Tuesday. December 1 is also the 40th anniversary of Lambda Theta Phi Latin Fraternity, Inc.’s founding at Kean University in 1975. Brothers nationwide are encouraged to donate in honor of the Fraternity’s founding date on Giving Tuesday, as well as at campuses and workplaces throughout the country where Lambda Men are collecting funds in the Quarter for the Quarter Drive.
