University of Maryland Colony Celebrates their Lambda Week


COLLEGE PARK, MD – The University of Maryland Colony of Lambda Theta Phi will be hosting it’s second annual Lambda Week to commemorate the colony’s founding day.  Events will be held every day from March 11th to March 14th, and all are welcome to attend.  Below is a listing of events:

 

Sunday, March 10

Cleaning Up College Park (1pm-3pm)
Join the colony as they clean up their adopted road right off campus.  Co-sponsoring are the Brothers of Alpha Theta Sigma Multicultural Fraternity, Inc. and the Filipino Cultural Association.

Monday, March 11th

Blood Drive (12pm-5pm)
STAMP Student Union Atrium

In support of our national philanthropy, the American Heart Association, we are hosting a Blood Drive along with the Red Cross. Register online at or walk in to donate blood!

Credit Workshop (7pm-9pm)

Gun Safety Identification and Awareness (7pm-9pm)
Marie Mount Lecture Hall 1400

Along with the UMCP Police Department and several gun experts, we will be hosting a seminar meant to promote gun safety and education. Over 60 actual firearms (unarmed of course) will be brought in for a hands-on and interactive demonstration that will leave the audience with a better understanding and respect for the capabilities of a firearm.
