Parsippany, NJ, June 29, 2010, – This past weekend, Thursday June 24th through Sunday June 27th the National Executive Board Lambda Theta Phi Latin Fraternity, Incorporated hosted the 2010 National Convention along with the Awards Luncheon in Washington D.C.
Over 200 Brothers from across the country convened to attend various educational workshops, business meetings and social events. The Brotherhood was addressed by the National President Steve O Hernández, Foundation Chairman Founding Father Agustin Garcia and Board of Trustees Chairman Jesus Peña during the State of Lambda held in the Kennedy room located in the Russell building of the United States Senate offices. Brother Robert Menéndez, U.S. Senator from New Jersey, also addressed brothers and gave an inspirational speech on leadership and relevant social issues.
The Convention was a success with the approval of several policies, constitutional amendments and electing Brothers to the National Executive Board and Board of Trustees. The eventful weekend came to a close with the celebration of the awards banquet. There were many guests in attendance including, National Board of Directors, regional officers, alumni and undergraduate members, representing various professions and academic pursuits, along with family and friends to celebrate and reflect on the many accomplishments of Lambda Theta Phi. The evening consisted of dinner, dancing, laughter, and recognition. Every year, Brothers go above and beyond what is expected and for that, they are recognized.
